The 10 most popular New Year's resolutions among Germans

It's a well-known fact that good intentions are always in high demand at the turn of the year. Because a year is over and such a turn of the year always provides an opportunity to look back and think about what could have gone better. What habits are getting on my nerves? What would I like to have changed in my life? Maybe things will finally work out next year. The Forsa institute asked on behalf of the DAK (German general health insurance) more than 3000 persons, what they planned for the coming year so everything. Very often, changes are involved that are supposed to help people achieve better health and quality of life.
The hit among men is to spend more time with the family. More than half of men, namely 57 %, have resolved to do this. So having less stress is at the top of the wish list - and has been for a long time. Other classic good intentions are: to do more sport, to exercise more in general and to eat more healthily. For 51 %, these things are obviously not yet as desired.

The DAK followed up on the biggest wish, "Reduce stress. 50 % of respondents said they were stressed at work and in the family. Hectic in everyday life as well as health problems have 43 %. Money is a worry for 32 percent of respondents. 17 percent are afraid of losing their job. There has been a slight decline in this area.

According to the survey, half of Germans managed to achieve their New Year's resolutions - at least for the first half of the year. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in particular, most of them succeeded.
